Bud Shootout: Bigger Payday - ($$ info from 2001)
The annual Bud Shootout, traditionally the first race of the season at Daytona, has undergone a facelift.  The non-points race among Winston Cup pole winners from the previous season now will include all previous winners of the Bud.  The newly named Budweiser Shootout, which will become a 70-lap race, will have a winner's take of $200,000 from a more than $900,000 purse.  Dale Jarrett earned $36,363 for winning the 2000 Bud Shootout.
The change in rules will make Geoffrey Bodine, Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliott, Mark Martin and Ken Schrader -- all drivers who did not win poles in 2000 but are former winners of the event -- eligible.
