DREAM TEAM XXIV Race 35 Update

Well, after spinning thru the infield last week, Hamlin was on the outside looking in. He'd now have to win this week at Phoenix to get into the Championship 4. Tough task, but he got 'er dun, dominating the 2nd half of the race! In doing so, he knocked last years champ, Joey Logano, out of the running. Hamlin joins race winners Truex and Harvick and also Kyle Busch, who pointed his way into the final 4. The points have reset in our game for the finale. Those with a Group A driver & Denny Hamlin from Group C remaining find themselves reset at the top. And we have a couple of familiar players in 1st and 2nd. Here's their battle heading into the final race...

Jonathan Moran (this years regular season winner) jumps back up from 21st to 1st, with an 82 point lead!
   Jonathan's drivers are: 18, 2, 11, 88, 24, 95
Jonathan has Busch & Hamlin in the Chase. More important, he has DiBenedetto in Group F with an 82 point lead in that group!

Only 4 players picked DiBenedetto. Most players picked Bubba Wallace or David Ragan...both busts this year!
Wes Beach
(2011 & 2018 Dream Team Champion, only 2x Champ) rebounds from 26 to lock in at 2nd. He has a 72 point lead over 3rd.
   Wes's drivers are: 4, 2, 11, 88, 24, 13
Wes has Harvick & Hamlin in the finale, and has Ty Dillon in Group F, the 2nd best pick in the group, behind only DiBenedetto.

I'm sure we're all shaking our head right now thinking, "why didn't I pick Hamlin in Group C?" Seems like a no-brainer, huh.

So what does Wes need to do to catch & pass Jonathan?? He has to make up 83 points to win with Harvick and Dillon vs Jonathan's Busch and DiBenedetto. He'll have to hope Stenhouse or Johnson (or another driver, but these 2 quickly come to mind) try to side draft someone and cause an early wreck (possible), taking out Busch and DiBenedetto to give them the fewest points possible. Oh, and then maybe if Harvick goes on to win (very possible) and Ty runs up front all day collecting stage points and gets a top 5 finish...(maybe), just maybe...

Tune in next Sunday at 3pm on NBC to find out!
